Exclusive TEEN VOGUE Editorial Floor Tour

{I'm a little bit late on this, but I totally forget to share it with you all!}

In the fall, I was accepted to the 6th Annual Teen Vogue Fashion University. I got to spend a weekend in NYC meeting some of elite fashion designers/heads in the industry. Alexander Wang, Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors, Linda Fargo, Tamara Mellon, and Whitney Port to name a few.

My favorite class of TVFU was the Exclusive TEEN VOGUE Editorial Floor Tour. Shiona Turini, the accessories director at Teen Vogue, was our tour guide. She took us into each room and gave a little description of everything that goes in there. My favorite part of the tour was definitely Amy Astley's office! Her book collection was to die for, and not to mention the interior design was mouth absolutely perfect. After the tour was finished, we were able to sit down with Shiona and her assistant for an in depth Q&A in the fashion closet.

One of the cool parts about the tour was having the chance to meet Shiona and her assistant, which just so happens to be a Teen Vogue University student herself!

TVFU Launch Party at H&M

The night before classes were to start, TEEN VOGUE treated everyone to a private shopping event at H&M on 5th Avenue. There was catering, a digital photobooth for red carpet style photos, free hair feathering, 25% off the entire store and a private show from British band Viva Brother.

New York City

During our breaks from Teen Vogue, we had time to do a couple others things. We got our shopping in early and made sure to stop at Occupy Wallstreet for a good portion of our first day. We ran into 5pointz as well, which was an awesome surprise!

BEACON'S CLOSET

One of Tony’s friends got us hip to Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn, so on our way out we headed there for a little vintage shopping. We saved the best for last, let me tell you! 5,500 sq feet of nothing but amazing-ness. They’ve taken the concept of buying and selling “vintage” or “thrift” clothes to a whole new level! It’s 100% better than Plato’s Closet, Goodwill or The Village Discount (and that’s a bold statement). A must go if you’re in the Brooklyn area.

HELL'S KITCHEN

While we were in New York, Tony and I headed to one of the flea markets a friend told me about. Hell’s Kitchen is located on West 39th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues and is open 9 AM - 5 PM every Saturday and Sunday. It was awesome! Some other awesome flea markets in NY are:
Antiques Garage
- 112 West 25th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues) and open 9am - 5 PM every Saturday and Sunday.
Annex/W25th- West 25th Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue) and open 9 AM - 5 PM every Saturday and Sunday
Brooklyn Flea- Locations vary so make sure to check out their website before heading out. Just google “Brooklyn Flea” and it’ll pop up.
