Chapel St. Bazaar

Of course I had to stop at the biggest vintage shop in Melbourne and see what all the hype was about. Chapel St Bazaar is huge, rooms upon rooms of vintage! Rows of Harley Davidson t-shirts, boxes of old Playboy magazines, old wooden soda containers, 70's homeware, typewriters, posters from the 30s and 40s.. evvvverything. I got this kick ass photo album that's in the shape of a 35mm camera and has the image of a film camera printed on the front. I need to get a photo of it soon, it's pretty cool.

Gorman

In 1999, Lisa Gorman launched her eponymous label at fledgling boutique Fat52 in Fitzroy, Melbourne, with a collection titled 'Less Than 12 Degrees'. The instant success of that first offering was the beginning of something special, and in the years that have followed the Gorman label has become an iconic part of the Australian fashion landscape.

There is a distinctive handwriting that underpins all of Gorman's designs, from its whimsical signature prints, directional knitwear and distinctive colour palettes. For all of its vintage and tribal references, Gorman is thoroughly modern and inspired by the everyday, and the local culture and artists that surround us.

Sass & Bide

I completely forgot about Blogspot for a while! To get back in the swing of things I thought I'd upload a couple boutiques I fell in love with during my trips to Australia, Portland, and Seattle earlier this year!

Sass & Bide is my absolute favorite Australian designer! During my trip to Australia I had the chance to stop by their boutique on Chapel Street and check out their Summer 2012 collection. Feathers, lace, Navajo prints..they had it all!

Australia Photo Diary

A little peek into Sato and I's trip to Australia over new years. From road trips to Phillip Island, walks on the beach in St Kilda, window shopping in Prahran and exploring every side street of downtown Melbourne it was great finally seeing why so many people go there.

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. Life is crazy, but I can’t complain. Australia, get ready for me.
